Host your Retreat in Baja
An intimate retreat venue on the East Cape of Baja California Sur, Mexico
A Space Made for Retreats
Casa Kura Kura is a private, purposefully designed retreat venue for facilitators, teachers and retreat leaders looking for a peaceful place to bring a small group together.
Set between the desert mountains and the Sea of Cortez on Baja’s quiet East Cape, the property combines comfortable accommodations with open-air practice spaces, gardens, wellness amenities and intimate communal areas made for gathering.
Host your retreat independently, or draw on our local knowledge and retreat experience for support with chefs, wellness practitioners, transportation and other elements of your program.
A Property Designed Around Retreat Life
Casa Kura Kura wasn’t simply adapted for retreats — retreats are part of the reason the property exists.
The spaces naturally move between practice, gathering, nourishment and rest. Mornings can begin with yoga or meditation overlooking the mountains and Sea of Cortez, meals can unfold around long tables indoors or outside, afternoons can move between the pool, sauna, gardens and treatments, and evenings can end around the fire under Baja’s dark skies.
Because I also host my own retreats here through Amanecer Wellness Retreats, the practical details of running a retreat were considered throughout the property — from the flow between communal and private spaces to places for movement, treatments, meals, workshops and quiet time.

Accommodations at Casa Kura Kura
Casa Kura Kura itself offers four guest bedrooms across two accommodations:
Hawksbill Casa — a three-bedroom, three-bathroom main house with shared living, dining and kitchen spaces.
Flatback Casita — a private studio casita with its own kitchen, bathroom and rooftop patio.
For intimate retreats, this allows the group to stay together while keeping all programming, meals and gathering spaces centered on one private property.
Need More Rooms? Expand Into a Private Retreat Campus
For larger retreats, Casa Kura Kura can be paired with one or both of the private residences directly next door, subject to availability. This creates an intimate multi-property retreat setup while keeping the heart of the experience — meals, movement, workshops, treatments and gathering — at Casa Kura Kura.
Casa Reyna, next door, adds four bedrooms and three bathrooms, with two king bedrooms, one queen bedroom and one king bedroom that can be converted into two twins. It also has its own heated saltwater pool, full kitchen, indoor and outdoor living and dining spaces, gardens, air conditioning and Wi-Fi.
A second neighboring four-bedroom, three-bathroom residence may also be available, with one king room, three queen rooms, an additional queen sofa bed and its own private pool.
When all three properties are available, retreat groups can access up to 12 bedrooms across three adjacent private homes, while using Casa Kura Kura as the central wellness and gathering space. Availability of neighboring homes is confirmed separately for each retreat.
Bring Your Program — Or Let Us Help With the Rest
You can simply rent Casa Kura Kura and bring your own team and programming, or I can help you build the local pieces around your retreat.
Having created and hosted private and group retreats in Baja myself, I understand how many moving parts happen behind the scenes. Depending on what you need, I can help coordinate private chefs, massage and bodywork practitioners, yoga and meditation teachers, sound healers, wellness facilitators, transportation and other local experiences.
Support can be completely à la carte. You remain the retreat leader and shape the experience for your group; Casa Kura Kura can simply be the venue, or I can help make the logistics on the ground considerably easier.
A Quiet Alternative to a Cabo Resort
Casa Kura Kura is located in Los Zacatitos on the East Cape of Baja California Sur, approximately 35 minutes from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD).
It feels worlds away from the larger hotels and resort corridors: desert, mountains, sea, starry skies and a beach approximately a 10-minute walk away — while still being close enough to San José del Cabo for straightforward airport access and retreat logistics.
For leaders searching for a retreat venue near Los Cabos without wanting a conventional resort environment, Casa Kura Kura offers something smaller, quieter and much more private.
Types of Retreats we Welcome
Casa Kura Kura is well suited to yoga and meditation retreats, wellness retreats, breathwork and sound experiences, creative retreats, plant medicine, herbalism, women’s or men’s gatherings, couples and relationship programs, small professional or leadership retreats, workshops and other intimate group experiences centered around wellbeing, creativity, connection and personal growth.
